The Opportunity
Monash Residential Services (MRS) is seeking a proactive and service-driven Food Services Coordinator (Front of House) to lead the delivery of outstanding dining and service experiences across our café, dining hall and function spaces, for a large and diverse residential community.
This hands-on role oversees daily FOH operations, leading a team of supervisors, permanent staff and agency attendants to deliver smooth service, consistent standards and staff development. You’ll coordinate functions from everyday gatherings to high-profile events, while managing rostering, stock and POS systems, supplier relationships, FOH communications and compliance with food safety and OHS. The role also provides delegated Second in Command coverage for the Food Services Manager and operational support to the Back-of-House Coordinator when required.
With the support of your team, your role will see you:
Oversee FOH service across café, dining and functions
Lead, train and support FOH staff and supervisors
Coordinate functions and special events, ensuring excellent service
Manage FOH stock, consumables, equipment and POS troubleshooting
Monitor and maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and service innovation
Provide operational coverage and help drive continuous improvement
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring strong leadership and coordination skills, a commitment to service excellence, and a solid experience in front-of-house operations. Your ability to manage teams, deliver polished service for both daily dining and special events, and balance competing priorities while fostering positive relationships will be key to your success.
