About the Role
Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their potential? Mai-Wel is seeking a Youth Support Mentor to join our Transition to Work (TTW) team. This role provides intensive one-on-one support to jobseekers aged 15–25, helping them build skills, overcome barriers, and achieve their employment or education goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide vocational guidance tailored to participants’ career and education aspirations.
Support young people to identify and implement their goals through a Job Plan.
Assess skills, capabilities, and barriers, and connect participants with specialist support services.
Facilitate employability workshops, individual and group coaching sessions.
Support participants with job search activities, volunteering opportunities, and mentoring.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, training providers, and community services.
Maintain accurate participant records and meet performance and compliance requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in coaching, mentoring, or supporting others to build capacity.
Skilled in caseload management, with the ability to balance participant needs and program outcomes.
Confident with administration, reporting, and using digital systems.
A strong communicator who can build trust, motivate, and inspire young people.
Adaptable, organised, and able to maintain high professional work standards.
Essential:
Current driver’s licence.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or supporting young people.
