Heritage Preschool is an Exceeding rated sessional 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten service run by a volunteer parent committee. We are seeking 2 Early Childhood Diploma qualified Educators for Permanent Part-time on-going positions

At Heritage Preschool we endeavour to provide our children with a high-quality, inclusive and enjoyable start to their education. Our children come from culturally diverse and varying socio-economic backgrounds, and it is our responsibility to give each child the best opportunities for their learning and development. Our kindergarten embraces nature play as part of our program which is an integral part of our curriculum.

The positions will support our Kookaburra (3 and 4-year-old) groups The Kookaburra group is a 7.5-hour group on Monday & Wednesday

Start date : TERM 1 27/01/2026

The objectives of the position are as follows:

Have a comprehensive knowledge of the Education and Care National Law Act 2010, the Education and Care National Regulations 2011 and always adhere to its requirements.

Work alongside our Early Childhood Teacher and share responsibility for the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a high-quality curriculum using a sound knowledge of the Victorian early years learning and development framework

A sound knowledge of current best practice that is reflective of the approved National Quality Framework

Be willing to work in a team environment providing day-to-day support, direction and leadership to their co-worker/s

Ensure a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children.

Ensure that records are maintained accurately for each child in their care and in accordance with the requirements of the National Regulations 2011.

Develop, implement, and evaluate daily routines.

Ensure the centre or service’s policies and procedures are adhered to.

Liaise with families, carers, community as appropriate.

Contribute to the development of the centre or service’s policies

Undertake administrative functions as required

To have undertaken appropriate professional development related to work which may include on-the-job and/or off-site support.

To be considered for the position you must have

A minimum of 2 years experiences

Diploma qualified

Be able to support the Teacher in planning and implementing the program

A strong understanding and the capacity to work with children with diverse range of abilities

A sound understanding of play-based pedagogy

Work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision,

Have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team.

Work in professional manner at all times and ensure that the service meets the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law (National Law), Education and Care Services National Regulations (Regulations), relevant curriculum framework, the Quality Improvement Plan and policies and procedures of the service

Qualifications

Hold a current WWCC

Child protection training and sound knowledge of Child Safe legislation

A current approved first aid qualification, anaphylaxis management training, epipen training and emergency asthma management training
