Why this Role?
As part of the Governance, Cyber and Policy (GCP), Information and Technologies branch, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality information services that empower departmental employees and external stakeholders. You'll provide expert advice on records and information management, as well as support Content Manager services, the Information Access Officer Network, Administrative Access to information requests and ICT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide expert advice and training to departmental employees on records and information management practices, ensuring compliance with disposal schedules, RTI Act and administrative access, information security, and departmental policies.
- Conduct data cleansing activities in Content Manager, support the uplift of business areas from network drives to Teams/SharePoint, and provide guidance on best practices for records management and digital transformation.
- Respond to and resolve information management and Content Manager support requests, triage work effectively, investigate issues, and escalate unresolved matters, ensuring incidents are managed in line with agreed procedures and timeframes.
- Collaborate with team members to review and enhance administrative systems, processes, and services, driving efficiency, improving the customer experience, and fostering a positive team environment.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders by facilitating meetings, engaging with Queensland State Archives (where applicable), and providing high-quality advice on retention and disposal practices, transfers, and other records management matters.
- Conduct research and analysis to support the implementation of ICT and Information Management policies, assess risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and contribute to informed decision-making.
- Facilitate networks or communities of practice to share knowledge, promote collaboration, and support the continuous improvement of information management practices across the department.
What you need to succeed:
As the Senior Information Management Officer. you will:
- Demonstrate expertise in records and information management, including applying your knowledge of retention and disposal practices, administering Content Manager, and supporting digital transformation activities such as uplifting business areas to Teams/SharePoint.
- Provide high-quality advice and training to stakeholders across schools, regions, and corporate offices, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, facilitate meetings or networks (e.g., communities of practice), and collaborate with Queensland State Archives where required.
- Manage competing priorities effectively by triaging work, organising tasks, and delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Bring a proactive mindset and problem-solving approach, working collaboratively with team members to deliver exceptional customer service to diverse stakeholders.
- Communicate and facilitate confidently, leading discussions, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems.
