NDIS Support Worker

Elira Services is looking for an experienced and exceptional Disability Support Worker on a Casual basis to join our team. Elira works across Melbourne’s south-east, including Cranbourne, Pakenham, Dandenong, Frankston and surrounds.

Elira Services has a friendly and supportive team of staff who are dedicated to providing personalised, proactive and quality care to our participants. We’re not a company you’ll find online - most of our participants come to us through word of mouth and personal recommendations. We believe this reflects the quality of care and trust we build with the people we support.

Role and Responsibility

· Provide support to participants with physical, mental and/or intellectual disabilities of varying degrees of complexity

· Assisting with activities relating to personal care and daily living, community support and empowerment

· Work under the general guidance from the personal seeking support, their advocates and wider team, within clearly defined guidelines

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year experience in disability support work or similar, including personal hygiene.

Personal experience caring for others will also be considered.

Flexibility to cover shifts at short notice, including outside of school or business hours.

Working with Children Check

Police Check

Driving License and full comprehensive motor insurance

First aid and CPR

Desirable

· Contributes to a positive, team-orientated workplace culture

· Ability to work supportively, respectfully and collaboratively within each participant and their team

· Great communication skills and a professional approach

· Strong, proven interpersonal skills, empathy and patience will be found in the right candidate

· Ability to work under pressure

· Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills

· Willingness to make a long term commitment to the role to provide continuity of supports to our participants

We have a few participants looking for ongoing support and multiple staff who will be taking leave over the next few months (late November onwards) so the ideal candidate will have plenty of availability to jump in to fill the gaps.
