About the role

This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join the team at Rural Mechanical Repairs in Charters Towers, Queensland. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a range of light vehicles, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality service.

What you'll be doing

Lead and supervise apprentices

Diagnose and repair a variety of light vehicles, including cars, utes and light commercial vehicles

Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance as per manufacturer specifications

Test and inspect vehicles to identify and resolve faults using diagnostic tools and techniques

Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness

Record all work completed and provide detailed reports

Maintain a clean and organised work environment

Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner

A combination of workshop and field service (as required)

What we're looking for

Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent automotive qualification

Minimum 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic (preferred)

Toyota technician (highly regarded)

Aircon licence (highly regarded)

AE (Approved Examiner) licence (highly regarded)

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must be able to work Mon to Fri (7am-5pm)

Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship

Excellent communication skills

Current manual driver's licence

Australian working rights or valid work visa
