Travel: 25–50% in 2025 (domestic & international); expected to reduce as the team grows
Training: Up to 3 months in San Francisco HQ
Salary Range: AUD $95,000 to $115,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
Travel Expenses: All travel covered via corporate card (flights, accommodations, meals, and incidentals).

BurnBot Australia is being built as the Asia-Pacific hub; not just a service arm, but a sovereign manufacturing and operations capability, exporting innovation from Australia to the region.
Why This Role Matters
This is a foundational hire. You'll be hands-on in the workshop, out in the field, and at the centre of building BurnBot's manufacturing and service capability in Australia. From day one, you'll help define processes, set standards, and deliver reliable RX units that can handle the toughest conditions.
What You'll Do
Build & Service – Assemble RX units, perform servicing, and ensure outgoing quality checks before release to the Operations Team.
Diagnose & Repair – Carry out mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting both in the field and on returning units.
Process & Documentation – Contribute to the creation of repeatable manufacturing documentation and service procedures.
Design Feedback – Provide Design for Assembly (DFA) input back to the R&D team.
Inventory & Logistics – Help manage manufacturing and service parts, consumables, and tooling.
Field Deployment involves travelling to projects with the Operations Team to provide on-site service and support.
Workshop Culture – Apply the 5S/Lean practices to keep the workspace efficient, clean, and safe.
What You Bring
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly or repair.
Solid skills in metal fabrication (machining, welding, etc.).
Trade-level welding certification or equivalent commercial experience is required for metal fabrication tasks.
Ability to perform basic electrical and software diagnostics (soldering, wiring, testing).
Experience with fluid/air systems assembly.
A continuous-learning mindset and readiness to take on new challenges.
Familiarity with 5S / Lean manufacturing practices.
Alignment with BurnBot's mission of protecting people, infrastructure, and ecosystems.
Australian work rights are required at the time of application.
Bonus Points If You Have
There has been exposure to heavy machinery or robotics.
Experience standing up or scaling production lines (automotive, EV, agricultural, heavy equipment).
High-level soldering and electrical repair skills.
Prior experience contributing to technical documentation or process manuals.
