The EDSU at Bendigo Health is a surgical unit, which caters primarily for Elective and Emergency surgeries in the fields of Urology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery. The model of care will primarily see patients admitted overnight for no greater than 48 hours. The patients will be booked through Patient Services as per the EDSU Model of Care Document. In order to maintain high levels of occupancy the unit will actively pull patients from both the Emergency Department and Theatre Recovery.
The EDSU will operate between 07:00 Monday, until 22:00 on Friday, however you should expect to be available across a 24-hour, 7 day per week roster.
The Registered Nurse role provides an important clinical role within the SSSU at Bendigo Health. The Registered Nurse provides assistance to colleagues on a daily basis and more broadly functions within the vision and values of the organisation working alongside a great team.
