Senior Policy Officer
At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners - from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.
- Multiple vacancies - Ongoing Full-Time
- Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
- $161,711 Package includes salary ($129,464 - $142,665), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
About the role
The Senior Policy Officer manages and coordinates the development and implementation of a range of policy initiatives to contribute to the delivery of policy initiatives that align with the Department's priorities. Current Department priorities include initiatives relating to the Plan for Public Education and teacher workload reduction.

About you
- Strong attention to detail and effectively manages your time to meet deadlines.
- Adaptable with excellent communication skills
- Showing experience in providing expert policy advice and information to relevant stakeholders to facilitate the appropriate interpretation and implementation of policies and support the department's policy initiatives
- Capable of leading the preparation of correspondence, written reports, publications, and briefs that are informative and aligned with agency requirements to respond to Government requests.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
