About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the kitchen team at Kelly & Co Hotels' in the vibrant town of Mudgee, NSW as a Senior Sous Chef. As a key member of the culinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is a full-time position based on-site in Mudgee.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Head Chef in the overall kitchen operations and management

Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of high-quality dishes

Supervising and training kitchen staff to ensure consistent food quality and service

Developing and refining menus to showcase seasonal, locally-sourced produce

Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards

Collaborating with the hospitality team to deliver exceptional customer service

What we're looking for

Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment

Formal culinary qualifications, such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Commercial Cooking

Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team

Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

Excellent time management, multitasking and problem-solving skills

A passion for creating innovative, flavoursome dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients

A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
