About the Role We have been exclusively engaged to recruit a National Payroll Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end payroll operations across Australia. Reporting international Head of Payroll based in the UK, you’ll lead a team of three and work closely with HR and Finance to deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services.

You’ll also play a key role in driving automation, improving systems, and helping to create a true centre of excellence for payroll. This is the perfect role for someone who’s confident leading a team, loves finding smarter ways to work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Please note this is an initial 12 month FTC with the view to transition to permanent.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and mentor a small payroll team
• Oversee accurate and timely payroll across multiple states and Awards/EBAs.
• Ensure full compliance with PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, FBT, and ATO requirements.
• Manage payroll tax, workers’ comp, group tax, and end-of-month reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, system upgrades, and process digitisation.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to deliver better reporting and workforce insights.
• Build strong relationships across the business and lead by example.

About You
You’re an experienced payroll leader who’s just as comfortable managing a team as you are diving into the detail. You bring energy, initiative, and a solutions-focused mindset, and you’re passionate about delivering a great experience for your people and the business. You’ll bring:

• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance (PAYG, Super, FBT, etc.)
• Proven experience leading a payroll team in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Hands-on experience with ADP GlobalView
• Solid understanding of Awards/EBAs and payroll reporting processes
• Great communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative, proactive, and can-do attitude
• Media industry exposure is a plus
