About the Role:

Glebe Road Kindy are currently seeking an Assistant Educator to join their team in 2026. Your role as an Assistant will see you working permanent part time 37.5 hours each fortnight. Working 8.5 hours each Thursday and Friday, and 3.5 hours alternate Wednesdays with staff. The role commences on 22nd January 2026, however, you may be required before this date for induction and orientation.

Our single unit Kindy provides a program for two groups of children, on a two-day weekly program. As the Assistant Educator you will be a part of a centre that is recognised as an Exceeding service. Ideal applicants will have:

Diploma or Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)

Willingness to be a Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC)

Current working with children check (Blue Card)

Current first aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Certificates (or willing to acquire before commencement)

Prior experience in an early childhood setting, preferable with the 3-5 age group in a Kindergarten setting

Understanding of your duties as an Assistant Educator and able to work with a small team of educators

Passion for creating and delivering a stimulating learning environment

Understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment

Awareness of National Quality Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines

Able to document observations of children's behaviour and development, in the form of photos and annotations

A love of children and a passion for play based learning

A commitment to children's safety and wellbeing

Skills to build strong relationships within our community families, and understand the value in doing so

An ability to implement a planned program, in collaboration with the Teacher ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met

Experience working with and planning for children with additional needs
