About the role

Marsden Eye Surgery Centre is a leading provider of comprehensive eye care services. Our team of experienced doctors, Ophthalmologists, and support staff are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of patient-centred care. Our busy Ophthalmic Day Surgery is looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and efficient Registered Nurse, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards of patient care to join our friendly and supportive team.

Must be willing to work in Recovery, Operating Theatre & CSD as required. Theatre experience preferred, however our experienced team are happy to help train up the right candidate.

We are conveniently located in Parramatta, close to public transport.

Monday – Thursday work available. Approximately 30-38 hrs per week.

No weekend or night shifts!!! Great work-life balance.

About the role

Assisting Ophthalmologists with eye surgery

Admitting and discharging patients and assisting Anaesthetists monitor patients' vital signs and overall health during surgery

Educating patients on their condition and post-operative care

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records

Ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organised clinical environment and reprocessing surgical instruments as per AS5369

Providing exceptional customer service and support to our patients

What we're looking for

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Permanent work rights with no restrictions in Australia

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a clinical nursing role, preferably in Ophthalmology

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and educate patients

Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care

Prepared to learn our medical record systems and other relevant software

Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
