Seventh-day Adventist Schools South Queensland Limited (SQAS) is seeking to employ a qualified Christian Early Childhood Teacher to commence in 2026.
Northpine Christian College Early Learning Centre, Dakabin. The role is a permanent full-time position implementing and teaching the Queensland Government Kindergarten program. The key responsibilities of the Early Childhood Teacher include:
Develop and implement the program that supports the service Statement of Philosophy
Develop and implement the educational program and achieve quality learning outcomes
Use a wide range of teaching methods to enhance children’s interests and abilities
Design and follow a full schedule of activities and routines, both planned and spontaneous
Create and maintain an inclusive, fun, safe, healthy, productive, and effective learning environment
Create and maintain excellent relationships with children, families, carers, and all team members
Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interests
Ensure compliance with policies, processes, practices, and routines
Provide a strong transition to school program
The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework with further general knowledge and/or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of relevant legislation to then implement into the room. Highly developed written and verbal communication/presentation skills with the ability to self-manage and meet deadlines with a proven history of innovation and a commitment to quality outputs with technology competency will be highly regarded.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant must have a Bachelor of Education Early Childhood. South Queensland Adventist Schools follow Queensland Child Safety practices, including child protection training, all staff must abide by child safe policies. It is preferable for applicants to be a practicing Seventh-day Adventist OR a practicing Christian sympathetic to the unique Seventh-day Adventist identity of the college. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the required skills and experience listed below:
Desire to work with children and demonstrate capacity to enhance learning experiences
Proven experience in a similar role
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
Registered with the QLD College of Teachers
Deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy, including curriculum planning aligned with the EYLF, QKLG, and NQF
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven willingness to learn and improve
Passion, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to high-quality care and education
Current Working with Children check or exemption, First-Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
