MARS Recruitment is partnering with a professional services firm to recruit a Financial Controller. This pivotal role will oversee the organisation's end-to-end financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of robust internal controls.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and analytical leader with a background in professional services, capable of guiding and developing a high-performing finance team.

The Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes and provide analysis on key variances.
• Prepare monthly management accounts segmented by business division.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure accurate reporting standards are upheld.
• Manage the preparation of GST, FBT, superannuation payments, and annual tax returns in collaboration with external advisors.
• Deliver accurate cash flow forecasts and support strategic capital planning initiative.
• Ensure full compliance with local and federal regulatory and tax requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and regulatory filings.
• Manage all core accounting functions, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and cost accounting.

The Requirements:

• CA/CPA/CMA qualified (or equivalent).
• 8+ years' experience in senior finance or financial controller roles in professional services.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards.
• Experience with global finance operations and multi-entity structures.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to deliver under pressure.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
