Exciting opportunity to expand your skillset, grow as a clinician, and develop expertise in a specialised and rapidly evolving field.
Are you a psychologist who wants the independence of private practice with the support and connection of a team that values growth, learning, wellbeing, and meaningful patient care?
At The Gut Centre, we welcome psychologists who value the independence of private practice while enjoying the connection and shared expertise of a collaborative team across Melbourne, the Sunshine Coast, and Brisbane. We currently have space for 1–2 practitioners to join our Melbourne clinic in beautiful Kew East. Employment opportunities may also be considered.
At TGC, we value long-term commitment and alignment with our mission to help clients achieve lasting change.
About TGC
The Gut Centre is Australia’s first and largest psychogastroenterology clinic, pioneering this field for over 12 years. We specialise in the mind–gut connection and its impact on both mental and physical health. Founded by Dr Jim Kantidakis, a Clinical Psychologist with over 18 years of experience, TGC was created to be a place where clinicians can thrive, clinically, professionally, and personally. Jim has built a passionate team dedicated to helping clients improve their gut health and overall well-being. We believe the best therapy happens when clinicians feel supported, connected, and valued.
About The Role
Approx. 2-3 days per week with a flexible start date. This role offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on the lives of our patients. With Level-1 clinical evidence and client success rates of 70–80%, you’ll experience the reward of seeing patients achieve meaningful improvements to gastrointestinal symptoms within just 6–10 weeks. We support patients experiencing:
Gut–brain interaction disorders (e.g. IBS, functional gut symptoms, and IBD counselling)
Working with diverse clinical presentations including co-morbid anxiety, depression, trauma, and a range of health and gut-related disorders, including disordered eating (including ARFID)
Associated chronic health conditions, health anxiety, stress management, and general mental health concerns
As a Psychologist at TGC you will:
Conduct assessments and deliver evidence-based therapies including CBT and gut-directed hypnotherapy
