Elevate Your IR Career: Strategic IR Specialist (EA & Project Focused)
Are you a seasoned Workplace Relations professional with a passion for Industrial Relations and complex project delivery?
This ASX-listed organisation is undergoing a major operating model transformation, shifting its ER function to a proactive, specialist-led risk mitigation model. This is your chance to step into a high-impact role, leading their most significant industrial challenges and strategic initiatives.
We are seeking a specialist to drive IR strategy and manage major enterprise bargaining cycles, focusing heavily on our complex infrastructure and blue-collar workforce across Australia.
The Role: Your High-Impact Mandate
This role is a dedicated IR Project Lead with no day-to-day case management responsibilities. Your success is measured by project delivery and risk mitigation, not case volume.
Enterprise Bargaining Leadership: Play a lead role in planning, strategising, and supporting the negotiation of key Enterprise Agreements (EAs), including their largest and most complex blue-collar site.
Strategic IR Projects: Lead change initiatives across infrastructure, terminals, and depots, including consultation for significant change, M&A activity, and documentation reform.
External Representation: Prepare responses for and represent in employee-related claims and disputes at the Fair Work Commission or other industrial tribunals.
Risk Partnership: Act as the critical conduit between the ER team and the Corporate Legal Counsel on IR matters, providing technical insight to manage high-level risk and ensure compliance.
You Bring: The Essential Skills
Deep IR Expertise: Proven technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in enterprise bargaining, EA/Award interpretation, and union engagement (TWU, AWU focus).
Project Management Discipline: Ability to bring structure and delivery consistency to complex work, translating technical IR requirements into practical business solutions.
Legal Acumen: While a practising certificate is not required, a law degree or equivalent legal qualification is highly valued for interpreting and translating legislation effectively.
Resilience & Influence: High emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to effectively engage and build trust and credibility with highly sophisticated blue-collar stakeholders (e.g., engineers, site managers).
Location Flexibility: Willingness to be based in Brisbane (preferred) to facilitate connections with the refinery and infrastructure teams in Queensland.
If you thrive on complexity, relish a strategic challenge, and are ready to be the expert driving the Industrial Relations agenda, apply now. For more information contact Bianca Clifton on 0422 335 638.
