Are you passionate about supporting young people to live healthy, meaningful lives? Youturn is seeking a dedicated Supported Independent Living (SIL) Case Officer to join our Child Safety team and help deliver high-quality, client-centred services to young people in care.

Our services span Child Safety, Homelessness, Mental Health, and Suicide Postvention. About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and skilled SIL Case Officer to join our Child Safety team. You’ll work directly with young people in care, helping them build life skills and transition into safe, supported independent living.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and reviewing client-centred case plans
Collaborating with support workers and external stakeholders
Supporting clients with complex needs and trauma backgrounds
Ensuring culturally competent and safe service delivery
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to continuous improvement
Supporting Team Members provide opportunities to our clients
About You
You’re a motivated and empathetic professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You bring:
Tertiary qualifications or Cert IV in Community Services (or similar) Requires Diploma in Community Servies
Experience in case management and working with vulnerable youth
Knowledge of the Child Protection Act and related legislation
Strong interpersonal skills and professional boundaries
Ability to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours support
Other requirements:
Current ‘C’ class open driver’s licence
Valid Blue Card (or ability to obtain)

Client-Centred Case Management
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering client-centred case management, including the ability to develop, implement, and review individualised case plans.
Working with Complex Needs and Trauma
Proven understanding of the complex needs of young people in out-of-home care, particularly those who have experienced trauma and face significant barriers to achieving stability.
Legislative Knowledge
Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, and practices, including the Child Protection Act and Child Safety Service Standards.
Cultural Competence
Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and the ability to apply culturally competent practices.
