Senior Financial Accountant - 6 Month Contract | Immediate Start
$150K package (pro rata) | Hybrid (2 days WFH) | Potential for permanent

An established national business is seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant to lead a small finance team through a busy period of transformation and reporting.

You'll oversee a team of three juniors, providing guidance across month-end processes, reconciliations, and compliance deliverables. This role requires a mix of leadership and technical accounting - ideal for someone who can roll up their sleeves and ensure accuracy and efficiency across the finance function.

The Role

• Lead and mentor a team of three junior accountants/AP/AR
• Manage end-to-end month-end close, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee AP/AR, fixed assets, and general ledger integrity
• Support external audit preparation and statutory reporting
• Drive process improvement and assist in system/reporting enhancements
• Liaise with cross-functional teams and management on financial results
• Ad-hoc support for a finance transformation program commencing within the business

About You

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a senior financial accounting role within a complex environment
• Confident leading small teams and managing competing deadlines
• Systems savvy
• Able to start immediately and commit to a 6-month contract
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
