A Mechanical Technician needed in Karratha for a permanent role, relocation costs and up to $122'300 per year.
Your new company
My client, a global network of one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world, requires a Mechanical Technician for a permanent role based in Karratha.
Your new role
In your role as a Mechanical Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance and plant modifications related to mechanical equipment and other tasks within skills as allocated by the maintenance co-ordinator.
- Perform other activities as required, utilising gained knowledge, training and experience to meet business needs as required from time to time.
- Ensure allotted work is completed as per work instruction in a tradesperson-like manner under the direction of the maintenance co-ordinator and other technical specialists.
- Coach, mentor and assist apprentices during the course of the daily work.
- Cooperate and liaise with maintenance specialists / reliability engineers to resolve complex problems.
- Record all work data appropriately (such as work history, fault reports, maintenance events, and time confirmations) within the guidelines of the work management system.
- Carry out the shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities, as required and assigned.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered and to be a success in this role, you will require the following:
- TAFE/ CERT III or IV equivalent or Diploma in mechanical engineering
- Ideally, 10 years of experience in a similar industry (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining)
- Assemble, disassemble, and test rotating equipment such as pumps, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and refrigeration systems.
- Conduct machine train alignment using Laser (ROTALIGN) alignment of rotating equipment, drawing interpretation, and clearance measurements.
- Knowledge of rolling elements and journal bearing (tilting pad) clearances measurement and installation.
- Good computer literacy in software, including SAP and MS Office suite
- Understanding of relevant industry statutory standards and regulations
- Develop and maintain high environmental standards and practices
- Must be fluent in English, written and oral
- Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.

My client offers a second to non-salary package of up to $122'300 that will also include:
