We are a large Australian based multifaceted and diverse company. Privately owned, Parkside is now a leading player in saw milling, timber manufacturing, retail and wholesale timber and hardware, land and property development, home construction and retirement industries.
Due to an internal move, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Branch Manager to lead our Trade Timber and Hardware operation based in Townsville, which has recently re-branded as a Mitre 10 Trade Store. Parkside is a trusted supplier to local builders, tradies, and DIYers, offering quality timber, building materials, and hardware. With a strong focus on expert advice and reliable service, we’re committed to delivering top notch support to our customers.
As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day operations of the branch. You will be leading a multidisciplinary team, driving sales and growth, managing inventory and ensuring operational efficiency, whilst maintaining a strong safety and workplace culture. You will be responsible for implementing and managing strategies to grow the business and ensure the branch achieves or exceeds the branch’s financial targets and KPIs.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience in a management role, preferably in the trade timber and hardware or related industry
Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to lead and inspire a large, diverse team to maintain an excellent workplace culture to achieve organisational goals
Strong commercial acumen and track record of delivering strong sales, growth and operational results. A financial understanding of budgeting/forecasting and cost control is required.
A strong focus on customer service and relationship building
Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
Experience in supplier negotiations
Ideally you will have or be
Prior experience in the Building & Trade sector
A passion for safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a store /assistant store manager role
Excellent Customer Service.
