The rights of people are constantly exploited, ignored, or threatened by individuals, groups, and systemic structures. At Advocacy Tasmania, we believe that no one should have their basic rights denied. We exist to uphold our clients’ rights and to fix their problems, big or small.

We’ve been working for Tasmanians for over 30 years which means we know how things work and how to get results.

We listen and act at our clients’ direction often when others might not.

We’re seeking applications from people living in Northern Tasmania or who want to move to this area. This is a fulltime, permanent position providing advocacy support to older people, people with disability, people with a mental condition or people who use alcohol or drugs.

Our Advocates are compassionate, tenacious and they bring good energy and reassurance to difficult situations. They are very good listeners and compelling communicators. And, when they are not working directly with their clients in the community, they are comfortable working from home.

You will be joining a great team who are all passionate about protecting Tasmanian’s rights; we pay well for the sector and apply additional benefits like salary packaging and a 17.5% annual leave loading.
