About the Role
As the Director of Nursing – Workforce and Informatics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nursing and midwifery workforce across CALHN. Working in close partnership with the Executive Director of Nursing, you’ll drive workforce priorities and strategic initiatives that enhance professional practice, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Your leadership will help embed innovation, excellence, and evidence-based practice across all nursing and midwifery services, aligning with CALHN’s vision for a contemporary, future-ready health network.
In this dynamic and influential position, you will provide strategic and operational direction, overseeing governance frameworks, workforce planning, and the systems that underpin high-quality clinical practice. As an expert manager and nursing leader, you will engage collaboratively across services to guide, support, and empower teams—ensuring our people, resources, and systems work together to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care. About You
You are an accomplished nursing leader with extensive experience in driving workforce development, innovation and operational excellence across complex healthcare environments. With a balance of clinical expertise, strategic insight and people leadership, you thrive on guiding teams through change and shaping systems that deliver safe, high-quality care. Your communication, analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to influence effectively, lead collaboratively and achieve results in dynamic settings.
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and five+ years post-registration experience
- Proven senior leadership in workforce planning, finance, and strategic management
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage complexity and deliver sustainable outcomes
- In-depth understanding of nursing governance, quality improvement and contemporary healthcare issues
