About the role

Matilda Bay Restaurant is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join our vibrant hospitality team. As Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our renowned waterfront restaurant. This is a full-time position based in our stunning location in Crawley, Western Australia.

What you'll be doing

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and functions, including managing staff, coordinating reservations, and ensuring exceptional customer service

Monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability

Liaising with the management team to address any issues or concerns, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

Handling customer inquiries and addressing any complaints or feedback in a professional and timely manner

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

Providing mentorship and support to the team of wait staff, hosts, and kitchen staff

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar duty manager or function management role

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team

Thorough understanding of hospitality operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and budgeting

Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and managing customer feedback

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification

Approved manager card preferred

Australian work rights or valid work visa

Current First Aid certificate preferred
