Launching in 2026, Sports College SA is proud to announce the Adelaide United Identified Player Program (IPP), a unique collaboration with Adelaide United FC to integrate elite football development with a flexible, personalised senior secondary education. This program combines high-performance training with SACE completion through our project-based learning approach, creating pathways for young people to thrive both academically and athletically.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sports College SA IPP teacher will be responsible for all components of the Sport Immersion Program of the IPP program. The position is based at the Adelaide United Playford precinct, working closely with AUFC staff to align learning with the demands of elite football development.
The teacher role is suitable for Graduate and Proficient teachers. Accredited HAT/LTs will be eligible for a higher salary.
Fixed term contract starting in January 2026.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Overall leadership and responsibility for the IPP learning program and individual student experience, including all matters relating to learning outcomes and wellbeing.
Co-design of an innovative curriculum under the leadership of the Director of Learning Innovation.
Lead the delivery and assessment of the SACE using the College’s project-based learning approach.
Establish and maintain a strong culture in line with the College’s values.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, especially Adelaide United FC.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including AUFC coaching staff, performance and wellbeing specialists, and academic colleagues—to ensure holistic support for identified players.
Commitment to continuous self and school improvement.
Coordinate daily learning schedules with Adelaide United training blocks and match commitments, ensuring academic and athletic priorities are balanced seamlessly.
Embed performance and wellbeing principles into the learning environment, aligning with AUFC’s high‑performance culture to support holistic development of identified players.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A commitment to and passion for changing the game in education.
Experience in teaching and mentoring young people in SACE and in sports or related fields.
Demonstrated capacity to build professional relationships with all stakeholders including young people, parents and colleagues.
Knowledge and understanding of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements.
Effective presentation and facilitation skills, and ability to use a range of teaching methods to engage students.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member.
Strong organisational, planning and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and adapt.
Proficiency in using ICT and relevant software.
Experience in playing and/or coaching sport.
Full appreciation and understanding of young people and how to appropriately support their needs.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATES & CLEARANCES
Current Teacher Registration Board (TRB SA) registration (or ability to gain it).
Current Driver’s Licence.
Current First Aid qualification (including CPR and Anaphylaxis Training) (required or willing to obtain).
Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Current RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect).
Must be held prior to 22 January, 2026.
