Fabrication – Rail Vehicle – Workshop. Company Overview:
Our Valued Rail services client is one of the largest integrated C diversified suppliers of railroad, transit system products C services in Australia.

Opportunities currently exist for Boilermaker / Fabricators who will be undertaking mining rail production fabrication projects simultaneously to join their team on a Mon – Fri Afternoon shift, based in a fixed Telarah rail maintenance workshop location.

Role Tasks & Duties:
The role includes but is not limited to:

• Primary tasks will be to Undertake MIG Welding on cast steel rollingstock, wagons, plant & facilities equipment as required in a controlled workshop environment.
• Must be able to pass a weld test which will consist of an Incline Pad Weld & an Overhead Fillet Weld.
• Ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with the relevant maintenance & OH&S safety documentation plus processes are followed.
• Forklift Overhead crane operating to reposition large scale components, material movements in a fast-paced rail workshop.
• Ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with relevant maintenance and safety documentation.
• Provide recommendations to management on methods and procedures with a view to more efficient operations of the facility and maintainability of rolling stock.

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:

• Australian Trade Certification Level III / Diploma in Boiler Maker Welding.
• Ideally have proven MIG Welding on cast steel heavy industry vehicles or mobile / fixed plant equipment
• Previous experience on rail, freight maintenance or service activities, highly desirable or heavy maintenance components.
• Must be able to read, comprehend & apply technical drawings, high level of record keeping.
• Ability to proactively organise / prioritise work tasks in a profession efficient manner autonomously & as part of a team.
• Possess ability to problem solve & find enjoyment from overcoming challenging maintenance service fabrication projects.
• Have great communications, interpersonal & intermediate ICT skill sets.
• Ability & willingness to want to further their knowledge, skill set & capabilities with additional training (provided).

Additional requirements:

• Passing a pre-employment medical.
• Have own AirFlow welding helmet.
• Australian fulltime working rights.
• A valid NSW HRW LF Forklift License & Overhead crane verification of competency (VOC) advantageous.
