About the Role

Morale Care is seeking experienced, reliable, and compassionate Support Workers to join our growing team, supporting participants across Supported Independent Living (SIL), Independent Living Options (ILO), and Community Access services throughout Newcastle, Raymond Terrace, and Maitland.

This role is ideal for Support Workers who have hands-on experience (or the confidence to learn quickly) in manual handling, personal care, mealtime management (including puree diets), and working with behaviours of concern.
Availability for sleepovers, as well as a mix of day, afternoon, and evening shifts on a 24/7 rotating roster, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver person-centred support aligned with participant goals and care plans

Assist with manual handling, personal care, and mealtime management (including texture-modified diets)

Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and apply restrictive practices safely where required

Support participants with daily living, emotional regulation, and community participation

Maintain accurate shift notes, documentation, and incident reports

Work collaboratively within a team to ensure quality, safety, and dignity in care

Essential Criteria

Minimum 12 months experience in mental health or disability support

Experience or willingness to learn manual handling and meal plan management (puree)

Proven ability to follow positive behaviour support plans

Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Current NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children Check, and Driver’s Licence
