Temporary position for 3 months up, hours negotiable up to full-time

  • Staff Specialist/Senior Staff Specialist up to 80 hours per fortnight
  • Visiting Medical Officer up to 64 hours per fortnight

We are looking for an exceptional Otolaryngology consultant to join our Ear Nose and Throat department within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service in the following areas:

  • Rhinology
  • General ENT surgeon

As a Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service employee your salary includes:

Staff Specialist/Senior Staff Specialist

  • $103.05 – $119.32 p.h. (p/t) or $8,244.00 - $9,546.00 p.f. (f/t) L18 – L24 Staff Specialist
  • $122.77 - $130.05 p.h. (p/t) or $9,822.00 - $10,404.00 p.f. (f/t) L25 – L27 Senior Staff Specialist
  • $21,000 p.a. L18 – L24 Staff Specialist
  • $25,500 p.a. L25 – L27 Senior Staff Specialist
  • Base salary comprising of between:
  • Motor vehicle allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
  • Attraction and Retention Allowance up to 50% of base salary
  • Overtime and on-call allowances (paid by exception)
  • Professional development allowance $21,500 p.a. (pro rata for Part-time)

Visiting Medical Officer

  • Base salary comprising of between $201.04 - $238.93 p.h.
  • VMO Fuel Allowance up to $2,350 p.a.
  • Professional Development Allowance up to $5,000 p.a.
  • Tier 2 payment based on on-call requirements

* To be employed by Queensland Health as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO), you must have ongoing private practice costs. This is a mandatory employment requirement.

As a Staff Specialist/Visiting Medical Officer (Ear, Nose and Throat), you will be responsible for providing high quality otolaryngology care for our community, with a focus on leading safe care, driving quality improvement and innovation, and collaboratively contributing to department growth and development within a multidisciplinary team.
