AMY Nominees Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation (AMYAC), is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Operations to lead its business activities across the Far North of South Australia.

You’ll oversee operational performance across AMY Nominees’ current entities while remaining alert to new business opportunities that align with our values and strategic goals.
About the Role
As General Manager – Operations, you will be responsible for the effective use of resources and assets to maximise both economic and social returns for the AMY group. The role includes oversight of mine site operations, infrastructure management, contractor and staff supervision, and the implementation of policies and procedures that ensure accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day business operations across AMY Nominees
Provide clear direction to staff to enhance performance and outcomes
Monitor and manage existing contracts to ensure compliance and delivery
Identify and address infrastructure and asset maintenance needs
Contribute to budgeting and financial planning for projects and operations
Champion Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards and practices
Prepare and present quarterly reports to the AMY Nominees Board
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities
Conduct performance reviews and support staff development
Essential Requirements
Manual SA Driver’s Licence and current National Police Clearance
Proven experience in managing business operations
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Aboriginal communities
Strong project management and work planning skills
Sound understanding of business practices and resource management
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong people management capabilities
Proficiency in relevant administrative and project management software
Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
Desirable Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline
Extensive management experience
Understanding of Aboriginal Corporation structures and governance
Experience implementing WHS systems and protocols

This role includes regular travel from Adelaide to Prominent Hill Mine Site. Ordinary working hours are Monday to Friday.
