Yoorana Gunya Family Health Centre Aboriginal Corporation is situated on Wiradjuri Country and Yoorana Gunya means “Loving Home” in Wiradjuri language. Yoorana Gunya is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. Yoorana Gunya delivers a holistic family wellbeing service to the Forbes Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal Community. Yoorana Gunya is committed to providing a range of health, social and emotional well-being, education and family support programs to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people through providing a culturally safe service to remove the barriers to accessing affordable health care and preventative medicine to enable our community to live long, happy and healthy.

About the role

The position will be working as the main cleaner and as a part of the cleaning team. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene as per clinical standards. Thorough cleaning responsibilities will be completed at Yoorana Gunya daily and cleaning will be required weekly at our auspice service Binaal Billa and occasionally our units for GP’s.

Key Accountabilities

· Provide a high standard of professional and clean facilities for services to patients, clients and staff.

· Assist in the maintenance of the organisation’s assets and facilities by identifying and reporting any maintenance issues.

· Work collaboratively to ensure clinical and office environments are maintained to a high standard.

Qualifications & Experience

· Preferred previous experience performing cleaning services to a high standard in healthcare industry but not essential.

· Preferred knowledge of the requirements of cleanliness and hygiene within a clinical or office environment.

· Knowledge of manual handling and infection control procedures.

Essential Requirements

· Demonstrated experience in planning and organising with limited supervision.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise tact, initiative and sound judgement.

· Experience identifying WHS hazards in a workplace environment.

· Ability to hold a National Police Check and Working with Children Check Clearance.

· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Analysis and problem solving skills.

· Current valid Driver’s Licence.

· Ability to travel between Yoorana Gunya and Binaal Billa.

· Ability to complete occasional weekend work

What Yoorana Gunya can offer you

Salary Packaging options are available as a Not-For-Profit Organisation. Up to $15,860 tax effective salary sacrifice is offered

Remuneration: Salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 per annum plus leave loading and applicable superannuation dependent on experience.

Other: One RDO per month for full time employees, six weeks annual leave per year plus two weeks shutdown over Christmas.

Hours: The cleaning of Yoorana Gunya is required to be completed early prior to working hours or outside of working hours. Ability to discuss split shifts to ensure the premises is clean for the beginning of each day. Yoorana Gunya operating hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm.
