What you'll do:
As a Senior Finance Analyst based in Melbourne, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the team by delivering critical financial analysis focused on compensation, variable pay, and expenses across Australia and New Zealand. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing month-end processes with meticulous attention to detail, preparing complex financial journals, reconciling accounts, developing forecasts, and producing insightful reports that guide strategic decisions. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels - including offshore teams.
- Complete month-end processes with precision, ensuring accuracy of financial results and reporting for all people costs by analysing data.
- Prepare detailed expense accruals, prepayments journals, and cost reclassification entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations for both profit & loss statements and balance sheet accounts concerning all people-related costs.
- Execute inter-company recharges efficiently while preparing comprehensive headcount reports for management review.
- Develop monthly forecasts for each component of fixed people-related costs, providing insightful analysis against budget targets to inform business strategy.
- Lead the creation of Annual Operating Plans (budgets) for various sites or functions, offering robust support for any initiatives involving people cost strategies.
- Prepare and distribute monthly performance reports that include actuals versus budget/forecast analysis for different sites or functions within the organisation.
- Assist in compiling the People and Performance Monthly Performance Review pack by providing timely financial insights and variance analysis on all HR function expenses.
- Support internal and external audits of compensation costs while identifying opportunities to improve key business processes for enhanced efficiency.
