About the role
The Family Violence Service provides assistance, advocacy, information and support to family violence victims involved in the Magistrates Court of Western Australia by either a Family Violence List matter or when making an application for a Family Violence Restraining Order. The Service undertakes victim risk assessments, safety planning, report writing, case work, agency liaison, and referral to other services.
The Service actively engages with other agencies to promote integrated responses which support the client’s safety needs and ensure safety and risk information is provided to the court to assist its decision making.
Family Violence Workers support family violence victims in the court system who are making an application for a Family Violence Restraining Order. The work includes assisting the family violence victim to make the application for a Family Violence Restraining Order, provide information about the court system and liaise with other service providers.
