Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Our client is on the lookout for a Community Development Officer to join their friendly and supportive team.
You’ll be part of a team that drives community connection and inclusion across the region — supporting programs, events and initiatives that help make Cairns an even better place to live.
What you’ll be doing
- Helping plan and deliver local community projects and events
- Building relationships with community groups and key stakeholders
- Supporting initiatives that celebrate culture and inclusion
- Assisting with reports, funding submissions and program evaluations
What we’re looking for
- Experience in community development or a similar role
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for helping others and improving community outcomes
- Willingness to occasionally attend out-of-hours events
The details:
- Start date: ASAP (pending pre-employment checks)
- Contract end date: 10 April 2026
- Location: Council Chambers, Spence Street, Cairns
- Hours: 36.25 per week, Monday to Friday
Pre-employment checks (including a drug and alcohol test and Police Check) will be required.
