Senior Project Engineer – Innovation & Studies

Location: Perth CBD
Roster: Monday–Friday (5:2), 40 hours per week
Contract: ASAP start – October 2026

Are you an experienced Project Engineer ready to lead high-impact studies that shape the future of sustainable mining and energy? We’re seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Innovation & Studies to deliver feasibility and concept studies driving major decarbonisation and technology initiatives.
This client-side role will play a pivotal part in developing innovative pathways, supporting pilot projects, and enabling infrastructure that underpins the transition to low-carbon operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Study Delivery: Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of feasibility and concept studies focused on decarbonisation, innovation, and infrastructure development.
• Governance & Reporting: Apply structured study governance, quality assurance, and prepare robust decision-support documentation for investment forums.
• Innovation & Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend emerging technologies for pilot trials and large-scale adoption.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with technical teams, consultants, and operational leaders to align study outcomes with business strategy.
• Commercial & Strategic Impact: Ensure studies deliver insights that improve capital efficiency, operational performance, and emissions reduction.
• Risk & Dependency Management: Identify and manage study risks and interdependencies with a focus on mitigation and delivery assurance.
• Modelling & Analysis: Oversee study modelling, cost and profitability analysis, and provide evidence-based recommendations.

About You

• Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Systems, or related).
• Proven experience leading feasibility and concept studies within the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of industrial decarbonisation, electrification technologies, and innovation frameworks.
• Preference for candidates with hands-on experience in Decarbonisation projects, as the team will be executing studies and identifying innovative solutions across various decarb streams including Remote Power Generation, Green Mobile Equipment, and Zero Emission Fuels
• Skilled in multi-disciplinary project engineering, consultant management, and vendor engagement.
• Experienced in developing business cases (IRR, NPV, TCO) to support investment decisions.
• Familiar with TRL methodologies, study governance, and technology evaluation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
• Strategic, analytical, and adaptable in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
