You will work collaboratively with laboratory staff, School and Faculty leadership, University OHS representatives, Buildings and Property Division, and external service providers to maintain high standards of safety, functionality, and compliance across our facilities. Liaise with Buildings and Property Division (BPD), Security, and contractors to support infrastructure works and building operations. You will coordinate timing, assess impact, consult with staff, and ensure safety protocols and communications are in place for a range of projects involving HVAC, water, gas, electrical systems, fire protection, network services, cleaning, and hazardous materials handling
Provide laboratory staff seeking infrastructure advice, including support for instrument installations requiring specialised services such as additional power or vibration isolation
Oversee chemistry-specific services not managed by central facilities, including chemical waste disposal contracts, gas deliveries, bulk cryogenic storage systems, and gas bottle infrastructure. You will also lead and support upgrades to specialised systems such as the deionised water plant, and maintain essential laboratory utilities including compressed air and vacuum systems
Contribute to the development and implementation of the School’s disaster response and risk management plans, supporting emergency preparedness and business continuity
Maintain technical safety documentation including SOPs, risk registers, chemical inventories, and compliance records
