About us
The Mike Reynolds Early Childhood Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit Centre managed by a parent committee and Director, is located in beautiful tropical Townsville, North Queensland, Situated right beside the beach, the Strand and the Strand waterpark.
Established in 1993, we are a long day care facility including a purpose-built Kindergarten. We cater for up to 67 beautiful children each day and strive to provide the best quality of care and education for our children, staff and families.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Time Educator that is passionate about children and their wellbeing. Ideally you have experience and are passionate about working with our children aged 3-4years old. Other opportunities may be available at the Centre for a suitable applicant.
Ideally we would like the successful candidates to commence as soon as possible and start creating and developing strong relationships with our beautiful families, our fantastic team and community.
Tasks & responsibilities
Collaborate with the Educational Leader and management team, ensuring the well-being of children.
Contribute effectively to the team, work with Educational Leader and assistant educator to deliver a high-quality service in line with legislative requirements and Centre policies.
Create a program based on the Early Years Learning Framework, tailored to individual developmental needs.
Develop, record, and maintain specific objectives for individual children based on observations.
Ensure a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment, providing constant supervision.
Interact with children, families, and co-workers to foster positive relationships.
Qualifications & experience
Diploma in Early Childhood Education or currently enrolled and studying towards (or the ACECQA-assessed equivalent)
Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Current First Aid + CPR Certificates (or willing to obtain)
Commitment to health, hygiene, and safety practices.
Excellent communication skills
Ideally, you will have previous experience in a long day-care early learning setting and familiarity with Early Childhood Code of Ethics.
