ABOUT THE ROLE
We currently have opportunities for two Farmhands to join our close-knit team. We are seeking an Experienced Senior Farmhand to Join our team at Grassdale and Farmhand with moderate experience and strong desire to grow and learn at Pinegrove. The typical duties include:
- Planting using various types of on-farm machinery
- Cultivating, fertilising, spraying and harvesting
- Transporting, handling, storing, preparing and applying chemicals
- Operating, checking and reporting on effectiveness of irrigation systems.
- Performing grain harvest operations
- Calibrating equipment, performing troubleshooting, and undertaking general maintenance and repairs on equipment (Senior Task)
- Setting up GPS Guidance and precision ag operation including setting up of guidance line for task, importing and loading Precision Ag tools (files, scripts, data management) (Senior Task).
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in these roles you will have experience in farming roles particularly in irrigation and cropping with a desire to continue growing your farming career. You will also bring:
- The Ability to build effective relationships with the team and with key stakeholders and demonstrated communication, both written and verbal.
- C’ class Licence mandatory. ‘HC/MC’ class Licence desirable.
- Preference to hold a Chemical Handling Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- A willingness and desire to learn and develop your skills and knowledge
To be considered for the Senior Farmhand role, in addition to the above you will have:
- Relevant experience in the setup and intermittent maintenance of equipment such as air seeder and precision planter.
- Ability to setup GPS Guidance and precision ag operation including setup guidance line for task, importing and loading Precision Ag tools (files, scripts, data management)
- Ability to work autonomously and independently
