We currently have an opportunity for a Lifeguard Attendant to provide lifeguarding services and ensure the safety of patrons at our Jamberoo Pool.
In the role of Jamberoo Pool Lifeguard Attendant, you will also:
- Ensure the facilities including water quality and plant room equipment are maintained at a high standard
- Co-ordinate the setting out of equipment for the various pool user groups in a timely manner
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness at the pool
- Promote the pool as having a friendly and healthy atmosphere.

- Commencing hourly pay rate from $44.35 to $48.90 inclusive of 25% casual loading
(dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) - Plus 12% superannuation.

- Aquatic Technical Operator (Pool Operations) – SISSS00131 (or an equivalent qualification)
- Pool Lifeguard Licence or Current Pool Lifeguard Award
- A current First Aid Certificate
- A Working with Children Check for employees
- A minimum 12 months experience in operation of public swimming pools working as a Pool Lifeguard, or in the aquatic industry
- Knowledge of pool testing and correctional procedures, including safe handling and storage of chemicals
- Previous experience with routine plant room maintenance
- Knowledge of the NSW Guidelines for Public Swimming Pools and Spa Pools
- Knowledge of WH&S as it relates to a Public Swimming Pool
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and fellow staff members
- Well-developed customer service, time management and organisational skills along with the ability to work unsupervised.
Pre-Employment Checks
This is a child-related position. You will be required to provide Council with your valid and current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number as a condition of your employment. In addition, your employment will be subject to a National Criminal Record Check and pre-employment medical to determine your suitability for employment.
