The Mez Club is looking for a high-performing Restaurant Manager to take the reins of our iconic Byron Bay venue. With a strong reputation for amazing food, creative cocktails, and friendly yet professional service, we’re after someone who can continue to drive the standard and raise it even further.

You’ll have full autonomy over day-to-day operations, with support from owners who are involved in growing the business but never micromanage. You run the venue, lead the team, and drive performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves the rhythm of a busy venue, and knows how to balance high performance with genuine hospitality.

We cap hours at an average of 40 per week because we believe great managers lead better when they’re not burned out. But when you're on, you're on — focused, engaged, and fully in charge.

What we’re looking for

A leader with a strong floor presence who sets the pace and tone for the team

Proven ability to manage financials: wage control, COGS, and overall profitability

You'll be rewarded for strong financial performance with profit share bonuses

Confidence managing a team in a high-volume, high-expectation environments

Emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and focused on solutions

What you bring

Previous experience managing a busy, high-quality restaurant or bar

A natural leadership style that earns respect without ego

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Confidence with systems, stock management, rostering, and compliance

A sharp eye for service standards and a genuine love for hospitality

The ability to coach, support, and get the best from your team
