About the role:

As a painter blaster with AES, you are responsible for performing abrasive blasts to surface of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt to achieve a specified finish.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Perform abrasive sandblasting to remove old paint, rust and contaminants from mining equipment surfaces.
• Clean and degrease surfaces using appropriate solvents and chemicals.
• Apply primers, topcoats and protective coatings using spray guns.
• Mix and prepare paints, epoxies and industrial coatings according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting/painting to ensure quality and adherence to industry standards.
• Comply with environmental and hazardous material handling regulations.
• Ensure all AES policies, procedures and instructions are adhered to at all times
• Ensure an inspection of work area and surrounds are conducted twice daily and good housekeeping principals applied to work area

What we are looking for:

• Australian Manual Drivers Licence
• Australian/NZ Recognised Trade Certificate
• Experience applying 3 coat paint systems
• Experience operating an airless spray gun
• Tickets and licences EG: Forklift, confined space (desired)
