Production Assistant
Location: Port Augusta, SA 5700
Payrate: $32 - $33 per hour
Hours: Full-time

We're seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join a respected South Australian Government department in Port Augusta. This role combines hands-on production tasks with data entry and quality control, offering variety, stability, and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor production equipment
• Prepare materials, set up cages/towers, and support production runs
• Count, record, and assess specimens with accuracy (including flightability checks and eye colour assessments)
• Conduct quality control inspections and enter data into computer systems
• Maintain trays, tools, and work areas to hygiene and safety standards
• Apply basic maths for production analysis and reporting
• Contribute to process improvements and team productivity

About You:

• Previous production/manufacturing or quality control experience (desirable)
• Confident with data entry and MS Excel/database systems
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills
• Current National Police Clearance (mandatory)
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work some weekends/public holidays if rostered
