Lead Strategic Approvals for WA’s Most Significant Projects
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation is seeking an experienced and driven individual to step into the role of Senior Manager – Cross Sector Triage and Major Projects. Based in Joondalup with the option to work from our Perth CBD hub, this leadership position plays a critical role in managing assessments and approvals for major state projects under the Lead Agency Framework and eventually supporting the Coordinator General’s functions.
You will lead a team of skilled professionals, providing expert oversight and strategic advice on complex industrial developments. This role is central to streamlining approval pathways, enhancing cross-agency collaboration, and ensuring transparency across government processes. You will work closely with stakeholders including proponents, lead agencies, and regulatory bodies to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes that support Western Australia’s development priorities.
We are looking for someone with a strong scientific background, deep understanding of environmental legislation, and a proven ability to lead teams in a dynamic and evolving environment. Your ability to think strategically, manage relationships, and drive continuous improvement will be key to your success.

We value the unique diversity of experience that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, women and youth bring to our workforce.
