Join a leading tech business in the heart of Brisbane and join their QA practice building automation from the ground up. You will be responsible for analysing the functionality of applications and designing automated tests to validate their performance. You will also be required to identify bugs, install databases, and collaborate with the software design team. To ensure success as a Junior QA Automation Engineer, you should have programming skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent project management skills. This is a hybrid role, working out of their Milton office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Complete Product testing and record test results
• Writing and executing test scripts to detect defects and anomalies
• Creating issue reports for defects that are discovered during testing
• Analysing issues to determine if they are product, test, or data defects, or not defects
• Developing and extending QA automation suite
• Liaising with developers on requirements and issues
• Participating in all phases of testing
• Identifying software application weaknesses and target areas.
• Sketching out ideas for automated software test procedures.
• Reviewing software bug reports and highlighting problem areas.
• Writing automation scripts and implementing software applications.
• Designing and installing software databases.
• Troubleshooting automation software and finalizing system procedures

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years QA experience
• Strong experience with Selenium (minimum 2 years experience with automation)
• Scripting skills with Python, Java or JavaScript.
• Experience with GIT
• Exposure to Linux (knows basic terminal commands e.g. cd, find, grep, ls, cat, tail)
• Nice to haves (but not mandatory): experience across Gauge, Jenkins, Xray (or similar test case managements tools) and testing experience in a networking environment
