The Opportunity

This 12-month non-ongoing contract offers an exciting opportunity to apply and further develop your financial and asset management skills within an internationally focused department.

The role welcomes candidates from consulting, federal government and auditing backgrounds and provides exposure to meaningful, high-impact work in a collaborative and professional environment.

This opportunity is also available as a permanent s26 transfer opportunity.

The Role

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage month-end asset accounting, including preparing asset movement tables, reconciling balances, and maintaining data integrity
• Coordinate annual non-financial asset management processes, including stocktakes, impairment assessments, and revaluations
• Assist with the preparation of non-financial asset notes in financial statements and respond to audit queries
• Review asset balances to ensure accuracy and integrity of records
• Provide guidance and support across the organisation on recording assets and major asset management activities
• Support teams offsite in understanding and performing their asset management responsibilities

The Ideal Person

You are a degree-qualified Accountant who has completed your CA/CPA or is progressing strongly towards it. Ideally, you will have experience in asset accounting, but otherwise you should have a strong technical accounting foundation and a willingness to learn. You could also be a financial statement auditor looking to transition to the other side of the desk.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, as collaborating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and hold at least a Baseline security clearance. Ideally, you will also have an existing NV1 clearance.

Salary / Rate

• $90k - $110k + Super
