Duck and Dive Kids Swim Academy, a boutique swim school specialising in teaching kids Learn to Swim from five years old, is on the lookout for experienced and enthusiastic instructors.

If you love teaching kids, have the ability to teach beginner to advanced levels (excl butterfly) then we want to hear from you!

We offer detailed high-quality swim program with a focus on small group sizes for personalised attention. Classes are 1:2 or 1:3 instructor-to-student ratio, while mini squad levels expand to 3-4 kids. This allows us to deliver tailor-made lessons to focus on the requirements of individual students.

Teach in a purpose-built pool heated to 32 degrees, in intimate classes to assist in building strong relationships with local families as children develop their swimming skills.

Candidates must have:

Permanent residency or Australian citizenship (sponsorship is unavailable)

AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia or Royal Life Saving Australia certification (relevant to learn to swim)

Current Valid CPR certification

Working with Children Check

Competency in teaching nervous beginners, intermediate and advanced younger students up to the age of 10 years

Capability to follow lesson plans if given, accept feedback and willingness to teach in the prescribed style of Duck and Dive

Strong adaptability with teaching style and lesson content (i.e. being able to” teach what is in front of you”)

Knowledge of a variety of drills for all levels and strokes

Related competitive swimming background would be an advantage

A long-term commitment to the role

A genuine love for kids and swimming teaching. Patience, excitement, and enthusiasm in helping children develop their swimming skills

Clear communication and demonstration skills

Team focussed, reliable and punctual with excellent time management

Current timetable for the Duck and Dive Kids Swim Academy programme:

Shifts we are seeking to be filled:

Tuesday and Thursday: 5:15pm to 8:15pm

Friday: 4:15pm to 8:15pm

We will be expanding into holiday intensive programs for part of the term breaks

With our boutique team currently operating three nights a week and most likely to expand to five nights, there will the opportunity to pick up additional shifts.
