Duck and Dive is a boutique family run swim school specialising in teaching the carers of babies, toddlers aged 0-3 how to swim their children.

We also have a unique program teaching pre-school children aged 3-5 years and an academy that focuses on technique for school ages 5 to 10.

If you are qualified and are open minded to learning a new way of teaching OR you are interested in a career change and fancy diving into the swimming industry for the first time, we’d love you to reach out so we can find out more about you!

Absolutely must haves:

• You have permanent residency or are an Australian citizen

• You are looking for a long-term commitment

. You must be able to commit to permanent shifts including one week-end day

Must haves:

• You love babies, toddlers and little kids

• You love grownups (babies can’t swim on their own just yet, so you have to relate to the carer!)

• You are passionate about teaching but still have an excellent customer focus

• You ooze confidence and are a clear communicator

• You are patient and get excited with your results

• You are at home in the water

• You are flexible and prepared to help with other areas of the business

• You are capable of presenting carefully tailored lesson plans and accepting feedback

• You are reliable and have exceptional time-management

Great to haves:

• AUSTSWIM certificate (Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety) or Swim Australia certificate (Teacher course) or Royal Life Saving equivalent

• AUSTSWIM certificate (Teacher of Infant & Preschool Aquatics) or Swim Australia certificate (Teacher of Babies and Toddlers Course) or Royal Life Saving equivalent

• Current CPR certification

• Working with children check

The above are necessary before we can begin the training program but we can wait for you to get qualified if you are the right person.

SHIFTS:

There are multiple permanent shifts for both Baby classes (0-3years) , LTS classes (3-5yrs) and Academy classes (5-10yrs) during four approx. ten week terms across the calendar year at our Artarmon and Kogarah pools.

With a close knit team operating seven days a week, there will also be opportunities to cover shifts.

Duck and Dive is a family owned and operated business that have been offering local families baby swimming lessons at their purpose built pool in Artarmon and a private boutique hydro pool in Kogarah .

We provide an intensive training program, so you feel comfortable presenting our course to the clients.

We offer permanent shifts, with only one baby/learn to swim class held at a time in the warm water heated to 32 degrees, allowing instructors the ability to form strong bonds with the families you are teaching.

Enjoy school holidays off! – we operate school terms (approx. 10 weeks)
