You will have the opportunity to play a key role as a Clinical Trial Data Coordinator at the renowned Doherty Institute, leading database design and management for investigator-led trials. In this role, you'll enhance your skills in electronic data capture, engage with diverse stakeholders, and contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Database Management: Design, develop, and manage clinical trial databases using EDC systems, especially REDCap.
  • Ensure Data Integrity: Conduct data cleaning, administer amendments, and resolve inconsistencies to maintain high data quality.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Liaise with researchers and stakeholders to support database locks and interim analyses.
  • Communicate and Report: Provide updates on data management progress and maintain privacy and confidentiality of all data.

You will leverage your expertise in data management and EDC systems to lead clinical trial databases, fostering collaboration and excellence in a dynamic research environment.

You may also:

  • Have a degree in information systems, computer science, or health sciences with relevant experience.
  • Possess strong knowledge of data management principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrate experience in data management tasks and quality assurance activities.
  • Be skilled in engaging with diverse stakeholders and maintaining data privacy and confidentiality.
  • Have an understanding of medical terminology and privacy laws.

Your new team - Department of Infectious Diseases

The Department of Infectious Diseases is a recently established department of the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences that is based at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute). Research within the department encompasses infectious diseases including antimicrobial resistance and healthcare associated infections, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, influenza, viral hepatitis, sexually-transmitted infections, skin pathogens and emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Our researchers come from diverse backgrounds, including discovery research and basic scientists, clinician researchers, epidemiologists, public health physicians and microbiologists.
