The Role
This is a full-time position available across Monday to Friday and is available for an immediate start.
We are seeking a passionate team member to work in our busy retail/distribution site at our Torrensville Trade Centre. They will be tasked with numerous sales support and clerical functions that includes but is not limited to day-to-day administrative tasks, answering phone calls, entering data and helping customers with their needs that may include sales, organising stock and phone support.
Reporting to the Site Manager, this position will involve customer contact in many forms such as one-to-one counter sales, phone and email orders & communication. You will need to be able to work as an individual and in a team, ensuring you are meeting our customers’ expectations with their product requirements and purchases. Some experience in timber, hardware and building supplies would be advantageous but is not essential as onsite training will be provided.
The team member we are seeking will have a positive attitude and be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will need to be a reliable self-starter with a proven history of steady work. We are looking for a team member understands the demands of working within the building/supplies industry, as well as forge strong relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities include:
The ability to quickly establish professional relationships with existing key customers within the portfolio
The ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and new customers alike
An eye for detail with sales and commercial skills
Be personally motivated to succeed but also be able to demonstrate teamwork and team values
Some experience in counter sales or other customer focused roles
Preparation of sales and other related documents
Stay current of industry trends/issues
Ideally your background would include:
Previous experience in account sales or counter sales
Previous experience in relationship management or a business development role
Exposure to or experience in timber, hardware and building supplies
Past success growing sales and improving profitability within an area
Ability to interpret financial performance indicators
Self-motivated team player who is enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn
High level of personal integrity and accountability
Intermediate computer skills
Intermediate use of Microsoft Suite
Whilst building industry knowledge would be advantageous, onsite training will be given. It is a requirement that all applicants have a current Driver’s License.
