We are a friendly and growing chain of self-service laundromats in Brisbane, and we’re looking for a reliable Caretaker—or a dynamic Caretaker Couple—to help keep our laundromats running smoothly across all locations.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and you’ll play a key part in making our laundromats a clean, safe, and welcoming place for our customers.
As part of the role, you’ll receive a company car with fuel included, plus all the tools you need to get the job done efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Answer Laundromat Helpline phone calls and assist customers courteously when minor issues arise (e.g., stuck doors, payment questions).
Daily check of retail environment and machines for smooth operations. Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs as required.
Coordinate with maintenance technicians and suppliers when specialist repair services and parts are required.
Report vandalism, safety concerns, or unusual activity to management.
If required by us, provide professional Wash Dry Fold services including pickup and delivery using company car. Full training provided.
Be available for emergency onsite call-outs (e.g., power issues, flooding, or urgent customer assistance). Beyond a reasonable limit of callouts, which is included in your package, you will receive compensation for any after hours work.
Hours of Work
This is a full time 40 hours per week position, which may be split between husband and wife, who jointly work as a full time laundromat caretaking couple.
Alternately, the whole job may go to a single person working full time.
We are flexible with respect to your agreed start and end times, as well as which days of the week you work.
The expectation is that you will be onsite at our laundromats for a minimum of 35 hours per week performing regular upkeep and maintenance functions.
Mandatory Requirements
You MUST be able to tick yes to all these requirements:
You must have good written and spoken skills in English as you will be regularly interacting with customers in this role.
A good temperament and the ability to work under pressure is essential for this role.
You must have good work ethics, be honest and very reliable. Promises made to us and to customers must be kept.
You will also need good problem-solving skills to be able to think on the spot when customers ring, seeking assistance. We will provide detailed help and training, but it is important that you are comfortable speaking with customers and providing exemplary service over the phone and in-person.
You must be a “hands-on” person who is very comfortable working with common tools and fixing things.
You must have Australia work eligibility for a minimum of 2 years at the time of applying for this role.
You must live within 25 kms of Brisbane CBD as the job requires daily travel to our locations spread around Brisbane.
You must have a driving license – people holding Queensland drivers license will be preferred.
Remuneration
The base package starts from $60,000 per annum (including superannuation), commensurate with your experience and suitability for the role.

All tools and equipment required to perform your duties
The company car may be used for limited personal use including fuel, for up to 6000 kms per year. Personal use must not include any income-generating activities such as rideshare or delivery driving.
The base rate includes a pre-agreed amount of on-call and after-hours work, covering helpline phone support and occasional emergency visits to the laundromat.
Any additional on-call hours beyond the agreed limit will be paid separately at the applicable allowance rate.
