We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Counsellor to provide age-appropriate counselling services to students from Prep to Year 12 to monitor and advocate for students' social, emotional, behavioural and physical wellbeing, including providing referrals to external specialists and welfare agencies. Reporting to the Head of Pastoral Care and Growth, as an employee at Genesis, you will be contributing to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an independent Christian School.

This position will commence on 15 January 2026, Full-Time (Part-Time may be considered), Term Time and will cease on 26 June 2026.

To be successful, you will possess the following:

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline i.e. Counselling, Social Work or Psychology

Registration or membership with a recognised Counselling body

Demonstrated professional counselling experience, preferably within an educational setting

Knowledge of ethical and legal issues regarding the role of a counselling professional in an educational setting

A friendly, positive can-do attitude and strong communication skills

Current First Aid certificate

Current Blue Card

An active Christian faith and strong Christian character

In addition, the successful candidate will be reliable, flexible, professional and have a proactive approach to work. You will need to be able to maintain discretion at all times and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
